Rayman 2's art style was made with a lot more purpose than other games of the era. It also doesn't help that the busier geometry means Rayman gets caught on all sorts of things that weren't in the original. Tie this with the really intense camera FOV and yeah.

Its a decent attempt but not superior.

On visuals: I think the original had a great combination of BEAUTIFUL texture work and strong, angular shapes for the terrain. Remake's textures are much simpler and the level geometry is much more busy, it's basically like how the Toys for Bob spyro/crash remakes did it but more exaggerated since

They added a LOT of voice acting and I think were trying to give the game a more dramatic feel than it had. The gameplay is mostly fine but I think its a bit too floaty, and tbh thats the one department I wouldve made more changes to since 2's combat is its obvious weak spot.

Oh yeah i played that! It's cool and i appreciate the effort that went into it. But since they're trying to pass it off as a proper remake, I think they changed way too much and it overall doesn't look or play better than the original, either. Replacing the OST with a new one is especially baffling.
