Yeah, it’s practically impossible to explain to someone outside our context that the urge to sever ties with russians isn’t chauvinism; it’s principled refusal of anything tied to oppressive empire that is once again trying to reconquer Ukraine. Or why mobilization is bad, but only viable option.

So for many people here it's actually a "res publcia" - public affair where we are all involved in some way on all stages (especially after two revolutions lol). And not some kind of oppressive structure, made for the profit of the new nobility or smth like that.

an attack. And some say this made us look like easy prey. And I don`t know where you are from, but here, most of us do not think our country is stupid-ass. It`s not some archaic structure made hundreds of years ago by some old-timers. Independent Ukraine is as old as I am.

Oh well its's never as easy as it sounds. It took me almost two years to persuade my parents to move out of Donetsk, for example. Not everyone can or wants to move out. Especially older people. No one wants you in other countries. It takes money and some skill to move and settle in a new place;
