Really cool to see the Nest Gen 1 & 2 liberated however I take issue with many calling this "open source".
The firmware is not open, no patch history for the binary files, and the API is hosted by a third party with no option to self host. Hopefully this is changes.

I remember when conservative minded folks were concerned about surveillance and privacy. Now, license plate readers, local/state/fed access to private cams, data breaches, reselling of user data, private data being fed to AI... all gets a collective shrug.
