The first thing I noticed were that they are picking buildings not fit for purpose - a warehouse does not have plumbing for that many people for example which means the stories we are already hearing are a design choice not a design flaw

“every single person laid off has been a woman and/or a person of color”
2/9 PM UPDATE: Joining the list of AJC layoffs are:

· Alia Pharr, a metro Atlanta local government reporter
· Maya T. Prabhu, a statehouse reporter whose last day will be the end of the ongoing state legislative session

Again: every single person laid off has been a woman and/or a person of color
BREAKING: @ajc.com on Tuesday evening said it will lay off approximately 50 staffers, about 15% of its headcount, as it seeks to cut costs and marshal resources to invest in its growth.

The AJC published its last print edition on 12/31. About half of those laid off will come from the newsroom.

Not great for morale that one of the big undercurrents of american politics right now is the broad bipartisan support for building concentration camps among national/state electeds even while citizens and city councils try to stop them
