Commissioned c.1616 by Anne of Denmark, Queen to James I.
Completed c.1635 for Henrietta Maria, Queen to Charles I.
Breathtakingly lovely.

Not actually a seabird, but it’s got ‘sea’ in its common name and I was on the sea (Sound of Raasay) when I took the photo. 😀

Aviemore yesterday and Edinburgh today. The snow might be pretty but it’s not for me. As far as I’m concerned snow is a pain in the arse (especially when I slip and fall).

When she was young my late mum would buy postcards from places she visited and write details of the visit on the back. Her and dad were married on 17th March 1951 in Alloa and stayed at the North British (X marks the room) on their way to their honeymoon. In Ripon for some reason.
