2026 will finally be the year that fancy type systems will have to provide good error messages, so that coding agents can actually use the error messages to effectively fix the programs.

We didn't do it for the humans, but we'll be forced to do it for the machines. (-:
Sure! He didn't say types either. It has to be a thing with hard failures, so the agent has a clear reward function for the reinforcement loop. He didn't say, but I would also expect, it's got to be hard failures *with useful diagnostics* so that the coding agent knows how to go about fixing things.
