basketball and soccer obsessive. Books, too many books.
Presti may secretly love this because it quiets the “What Do We Do When the Thunder Get Two More Lottery Picks” discourse. Works for him when the discourse now shifts to Wemby looking like the “true” future.

TWO TIMES THE VEGAS LIGHTS WERE TOO BRIGHT FOR SGA
SGA staring into the abyss as a major stain on his legacy looms: failure for the second straight season in the Cup.

One thing OKC will take from this -win or lose - is the over dribbling from their main guys will have to be tuned out of their clutch offense against the best teams

Was just thinking OKC should have another shooter in there instead of Dort and then he makes an amazing defensive play, which ends up being squandered when Caruso smokes the layup.
December 14, 2025 at 4:43 AM
The Lakers letting Alex Caruso go after winning a championship with him will never not seem insane, all these years later.
December 14, 2025 at 4:33 AM
Kornet breaking up that lob to JDub similar to a play he made to chase down and block Austin Reaves vs the Lakers earlier this week. Seemed to break the opponent’s momentum, but credit to OKC, they answered strong.

Cason Wallace has been sneaky good tonight, has helped stabilize the second unit along with Caruso.

Two really good Cup semifinal games, think that’s the first time since the Cup started? Just a great doubleheader today.

All shitposting aside, the Spurs actually look *more* athletic than the Thunder in this third quarter — flying down the court and looking more dogged on defense. Harper, Castle, Fox and Vassell all making tough shots.

“Plus Minus is misleading and doesn’t tell the whole story” well, except when you watch Wemby transform the Spurs — in two three minute stints — into a competitive team against the NBA’s current superpower.
December 14, 2025 at 3:25 AM
Wemby starts the second quarter, and all of a sudden all the Spurs have an extra jolt in their step. Lead down to four.
December 14, 2025 at 2:58 AM
Spurs’ only baskets of note in the 1stQ besides their two threes (after 10+ misses) were a difficult fadeaway by Vasell, difficult turnaround by Fox, and a wild step through into a 360 by Castle. Still down 12 to OKC, who were average by their standards.

I love offense and individual skill as much as anyone, but both coaches have enough footage from this first half to do hours of film study on improving their defense — not least defending in transition.

Suggs had a disbelieving look after that Hart transition pass that split him and Wendell Carter and hit Bridges on the fly for a layup…like he couldn’t believe Hart would actually attempt it lol. Incredible play.

Entertaining first quarter of Cup basketball, but I can’t be the only experiencing audio glitches in the Prime broadcast…extremely annoying, like the buffering is off.
December 13, 2025 at 11:11 PM
Raps played really well in the first zipping the ball around. Second quarter the bench gave them nothing, and the lack of energy leaked onto the returning starters, who were terrible. Non-Brunson Knicks leveled up nicely to build the lead.

I give KAT so much crap but that dunk was awesome (and he’s had an excellent second quarter)
December 10, 2025 at 2:39 AM
As far as drunk quarters of Cup basketball go that was very entertaining as a neutral. Diehard fans of either team would be appalled at the defense.
December 10, 2025 at 2:17 AM
KAT’s propensity for dumb fouls simply can not be unlearned, seems stamped into his DNA.

So the entire Chiefs team got CTE in the fourth quarter? Incredible implosion starting with Mahomes’ INT to start the 4th, but the decision to go for it & gift HOU field position was absolutely mind boggling.
December 8, 2025 at 4:24 AM
Knicks start the 4thQ with three straight 3s to seemingly blow it open…then proceed to crap the bed for most of the following 8 minutes to make it close. Nice close by Brunson and some quality play by Hart help salvage the win.

Wolves have it tied at 101 with OKC with a chance to take the lead. Timeout, followed by DDV turnover, McDaniel TO, McDaniel missed jumper, two missed Gobert FTs, Randle five second violation. Can’t beat the best finishing like that.

Haven’t had a chance to watch the Clippers much this season but I’ve followed the discourse. Still stunning to see just how decrepit they look beyond Harden. Kawhi looks like he gained three more years just from the Aspiration scandal.
