The wrong Pistons center made the All-Star team

MY COLUMN:
Paul Reed is outscoring the Raptors 15-13. Big night for @johnhollinger.bsky.social.

(Checks to see if I can fly in from SF in time for his 100th point)
Someone in the locker room is drawing the number 100 on a piece of paper
Paul Reed's got 16 and Pistons up 29-19 on Raptors after a quarter
Shocked that it's that close

Greetings from San Francisco, where my "friend" @nateduncannba.bsky.social arranged for 48 hours of rain and then left town. Spurs and Warriors up next!

Had Jeremy Sochan No. 9 on my buyout board. Good target for a rebuilding team with a strong player development program. Maybe Memphis or Brooklyn?

NBA buyout market tiers: Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul and more names to watch
Now that the trade deadline has passed, here are the players most likely to switch rosters before the playoffs.

(whispers ....)

tonight will be the 30th consecutive game Zion Williamson has played in.

Watching Sac-NO from the other night (I know, but ...) and this Doug Christie timeout had me cackling. Transition "defense" against Russ's transition offense

This is the column I wish I had written about the Vit trade
"Jesus, too, had to leave his “team” (the disciples) for reasons beyond his control. Yet one of these men is hailed as the Messiah while the other is smeared as a fatsuit-clad diva."

@kylietcheung.bsky.social is back at BASKETBALL FEELINGS to sort out james harden's move to cleveland, thank god
Jesus was crucified, too

Seven games for Beef Stew, four each for Bridges and Diabate, two for Jalen Duren. Thought Stew would get hammered, but this was on the high side of my expectations for Bridges and Diabate.

Oh
It's still a (VERY) small sample in the grand scheme, but the on-off splits for Corey Kispert are pretty grizzly so far.

Also ICYMI yesterday -- After a slow start to his freshman season, Tennessee's Nate Ament has gone on a tear in SEC play and should be moving back up draft boards.

How Tennessee’s Nate Ament has rebuilt his status as a likely NBA lottery pick
The 6-foot-10 sharpshooter struggled early in his freshman season but has recently shown what all the preseason top-5 buzz was about.

ICYMI yesterday: The leftover mystery from the trade deadline is why the main contenders basically sat out making major upgrades

www.nytimes.com/athletic/703...
Where were contenders at the NBA trade deadline? Plus, scouting Heat’s Kasparas Jakučionis
With Jaren Jackson Jr. and Ivica Zubac being moved at the deadline, why did they go to lottery-bound teams instead of contenders?

These accidental wins by teams sitting out healthy players are destroying the tanking debate. C'mon shitty teams, be better.

Baylor runing out of talent here in a big way. BYU has opened up a 17-point lead with five minutes left.

Loud "BYU" chants in here from the fairly large contingent in blue. Baylor PA responds by cranking the music LOL.
February 11, 2026 at 1:50 AM
How on earth did James Nnaji get drafted. My goodness.
February 11, 2026 at 1:39 AM
Awesome play by Richie Saunders to block a Cameron Carr 3-pointer in the corner, he and Dybantsa have 40 of BYU's 52 points as Cougs have gone up 52-48 early in second half.
February 11, 2026 at 1:17 AM
After a wild first half in Waco, Baylor and BYU tied at 41. Tounde Yessofou has 18 for Baylor, AJ Dybantsa with 18 for BYU.

Points off turnovers: BYU 14, Baylor 0. Keeping Cougs in the game.
February 11, 2026 at 1:06 AM
Beautiful verticality to get a defensive stop by BYU's Richie Saunders just now against a Baylor big man trying to finish.

But man, Baylor's frontcourt ... yiiiikes
February 11, 2026 at 12:51 AM
The shot rimmed out, but NBA scouts are taking notes on that no-ball-dip 3 Cameron Carr took from the corner just now on a pass above his shoulders.
February 11, 2026 at 12:48 AM
Man, Baylor can't miss. Potential first-rounder Cameron Carr is 5-for-5, including 3-of-3 from 3. Tounde Yessofou, of all people, has made four jump shots already, including two 3s. Bears lead 33-21.
February 11, 2026 at 12:30 AM
Crowd here is lustily booing BYU's Robert Wright III every time he touches the ball; Wright, of course, transferrer from Baylor to BYU this offseason.
February 11, 2026 at 12:26 AM
James Nnaji has his first name on the back of his jersey, and I have no idea why.

Some pretty insane shooting so far, it's 22-19 Baylor after nine minutes.
February 11, 2026 at 12:22 AM
former Knicks and Hornets legend James Nnaji checks in for Baylor.
February 11, 2026 at 12:19 AM
surprised SEA isn't getting more hate in the comments on this. Can have Disney-esque lines in summer.
John,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Thank you for being a voice to the voiceless who still need rental cars in 2026. There are dozens of us!!! (I resent this specific thing numerous times every year, and while DFW and McCarran get the highlights, Denver is truly awful).
February 11, 2026 at 12:13 AM
Feels like a G League Showcase game compared to the Phog last night
Tonight won't be as cool as what you saw last night, but the stars will probably play.
February 11, 2026 at 12:10 AM
Baylor challenging an out of bounds call 37 seconds into the game. Alrighty then.
