BBC Sport's editorial team seems weirdly convinced that 'things Wayne Rooney says on his podcast' is much bigger news than it actually is

Really pleased that the Boro fans got properly behind the tributes to Headphones Norm at Charlton last night

I've been ambivalent about the Australian ban on social media for teens, mostly because we ban enough stuff already. For me, the attempt to shake the big platforms' grip on our lives – all our lives – is just as important as the mental health arguments.
The Australia ban on social media for children is now underway

Catch up on my interview with Labour MP & chair of the Children's Online Safety APPG @joanireid.com who thinks the UK should follow suit if the Australian ban is effective 👇

I wish the UK had the balls to do this.

Imperfect, hard to enforce, blah blah blah.
Still way better than the current global approach of 'acknowledging it does harm, doing nothing about it'

Kids and phones is our generation's 'smoking on planes', I'm convinced of it.

Would love to see a Premier League documentary in the style of Starting 5 on Netflix, following a few players rather than teams.

Brook seemingly calm and playing nicely here, which means he'll mindlessly slash at something that isn't there to be hit and get himself out in 3.....2.....1.....

I really hope I can stick to my current plan to not watch a single minute of The World Cup.

I bet I cave in though.

Huge news in international media. Netflix has agreed a $83bn deal to buy Warner Bros. Beat off competition from Paramount and Comcast. Will make the company the dominant player in Hollywood. The rise and rise of the company’s power is astonishing.

Nigel Farage was a racist bully at school but Rachel Reeves won the wrong chess championship so who can say who is worse?

Spoke too soon about this.

Those criminals at Hiscox/Bikmo are challenging the Ombudsman's ruling on my complaint, so it has to go to someone else now.
I am delighted to report that the Financial Ombudsman have upheld my complaint against Bikmo/Hiscox, and advised them to pay out plus 8% interest since the claim, plus £100 for my hassle.

They can still appeal, and I fully expect them to try to screw me out of something, but anyway, yay.
Bikmo are still flatly refusing to pay my insurance claim after my bike was stolen because this does not fit their description of a bike store (because I don't pay a subscription for it and it's provided as part of the work building)

Absolute bunch of criminals.

This is an interesting listen. Good that middle-aged-radicalisation is starting to be taken seriously, I've felt for a while it was weirdly underreported

*It’s cold outside
*Friends gather for a meal together
*Everyone is thinking about a very special little baby
*An important visitor comes in through the ventilation system

Alien is a Christmas movie
