It wasn't just the progressive evangelical feminists rising that concerned Piper/Grudem when they launched a backlash called complementarianism. Some of the founders of Christian for Biblical equality were authors & theologians who led the biblical, evangelical feminist movement.

Good point, yes, think there was a steady concern in the 70s of rise of evangelical feminists. It seemed by late 80s after a conference of where feminists were hesdlined, Grudem called for more collaborative networks to join to mobilize, Danvers Staement, CBMW, SBC (an engine)...
