The contempt cannot be for beliefs because no one can verify what the other truly believes in. It is because they have systematically denied such respect and dignity and inflicted pain on others’ identities. The gaslighting is beyond me.
People generally want to be treated with respect and dignity so long as they play by society's basic rules (follow the law, don't engage in overtly anti-social behavior) and facing opprobrium for sincere beliefs that are core to their identity is very painful

What can I do if I suspect my postman is not delivering my mail? An Post sent me all the tracking details and the man was just around but I still haven’t got what I was advised I’d get today. This is the second expected delivery that doesn’t arrive in the last 2 weeks?
