Pedantic reminder that legally Presidents’ Day doesn’t exist in DC or Federally (but does in some states). Tomorrow celebrate George Washington’s Birthday

Just noticed that MetroPulse (official WMATA app) and 3rd party apps (I use CityMapper) have different bus ETA times. I presume they use same data but do different estimates?? What’s more accurate?

Cranes (9th and H NW) doing a special taco lunch menu M-F 11a-3p (Taco Taco).

Can order takeout or dine in

Pretty good, unique flavors, big portions make it a good value for downtown

If you’re curious why restaurant delivery folks all seem to have same green ebike, looks like DoorDash and DDOT(?) have partnered to offer these Whizz bikes to DC residents (min 25 DoorDash orders/month) for rent-to-own deals ($70/month for 6 months, $120 to end)

Been commuting downtown a bunch lately on Red Line - trains are so packed. Huge contrast to the luxury of half empty trains on the-I-don’t-even-check-when-train-is-coming of being on Blue/Silver/Orange lines on southern side of Cap Hill.

New: Newly appointed CM Doni Crawford tells me she plans to run for the at-large seat in the special election, ending weeks of speculation about her political future.

Here's why she says she waited to announce her bid, and why she thinks she can win:

Bad Bunny HT show + 2 weeks of Metro (instead of bike) commuting inspired me to get my first pair of headphones that actually works with my phone in about a year

This month has been the worst month of winter in DC since December 1989 - some excerpts from the Post.
@Interesting the NPS used to declare when C&O canal and Reflecting Pool was safe for ice skating (4 inches of ice)

Been awhile but since I just tell people Residents (one of the first in town to showcase it), need some more recent updates:

Which bar/restaurant makes the best espresso martini in DC?

Sunday morning I thought a spotted an incredible deal at CVS for CTC (Cinnamon Toast Crunch for those in the know). But the price offer expired on Saturday.

Ok or Bad form for me to rip off all the expired price tag stickers like I did here in annoyance?

This is a such a huge blow to the city's arts ecosystems. This is the coverage that in my opinion is hardest to replace or rebuild
If it clarifies what was lost this week:

Philip Kennicott and Monica Hesse remain as arts critics at The Washington Post

Eliminated:
art critic
arts editor
arts/film editor
classical critic
pop critic
television critic
theater critic
all editors/reporters in Book World including two book critics

DC United has a home match in 15 days, at night. I know it’s the Apple deal but doing outdoor night games in cold weather states during winter seems dumb

The panini at Piccolina may be the best sandwiches in DC no one is talking about. Even comes with a side salad. Here’s the two I’ve had so far - incredible
