you don't have to know about football. you don't have to know about bad bunny or the tpt halftime show. when people mention them you can just stop reading. you can just play outside with your kid and then play pokemon snap on the n64. you don't even have to learn who won. it doesn't matter.

It has been several years since I’ve been involved in a philosophy dude group chat. I’m now involved in a philosophy dad group chat. We share pics of our kids building legos, and it is dope.

I did not like the way that Shinji behaved (cowardly).
If I were in that position, as a a teenager, I would behaved differently (heroically).

This is why I don't like Evangelion.

You hear a lot these days about the GPU rich and the GPU poor, but precious little is said about America's shrinking GPU middle class.

Year ago my father told me I’d make no money with video games or philosophy. Well dad, today I am precariously employed in a non-TT position and I got 18$ winning a Street Fighter tournament.

I'll get to that backlog of classics and underappreciated gems real soon. I just need to do ONE MORE run of this bullshit cookie-cutter roguelike. Then I'll be finished.

In Batman: Ninja they call the time machine “the quake engine” and that is a little over the top for me.

Imagine Mad Max (monster trucks, car crashes, all of it) but in the ice and snow instead of the desert, and that’s what things are like driving on the roads here in Kentucky.

I stopped liking the Dune series after the fourth book, not because of the drop in quality, but because I began to appreciate the weaknesses of cameralism.

Same thing here I bet.

Younger generations “have fallen out of love with Harry Potter because they have fallen out of love with the worldview the series represents,” writes Louise Perry. “Which is to say that young people have fallen out of love with liberalism.”
