“When China is sending fewer goods into the United States, that hurts. And when other countries aren’t buying soybeans from farmers in the Midwest, we feel that too,” said Sam Cho, a Port of Seattle commissioner. “We’re feeling it all right now.”

On ICE and abolishing it or slashing funding. 1st. Its current funding level is unprecedented. ICE survived well for years at a third its current size. 2nd. ICE was created after 9/11 by abolishing another agency: The Immigration and Naturalization Service. So, we can abolish ICE and change course.

What we're seeing is a "de-democratization" project, like China did to Hong Kong.
With Trump, though, he's getting weaker with each punch thrown because of the blowback from the still-growing social movement in the Union. Big victories come from many small ones. Be like water. The Umbrella Movement.

The demonstrations of late 2014 captured the world’s attention with their scale, passion, and resourcefulness, but in the end were unable to move dug-in local and national authorities.

CIA Propaganda story?

Because nothing says cooperation like the CIA uncloaking in your country to take the oil.

To paraphrase Chief Red Cloud:
"They made us many promises, more than I can remember, but they never kept but one; they promised to take our [oil] and they took it."

This will be Abu Ghraib x 2 if it runs its course. You starve paramilitary armies and their meat grinder concentration camps by cutting off their blood money.

Anyone failing to see that in Congress by this point is more concerned with power than human rights, let alone a piece of parchment.

The best offense against paramilitaries is to starve them — of funding Short of that, as they escalate, tactics must adjust. But remain nonviolent. Trump has a monopoly on state firepower. You can't out-militant his forces. But you can weaken morale & resolve. As important is keeping our morale up.

Brent crude is at $63.50 a barrel today and this opaque Trump deal got $50, per the story. Higher than a black market price maybe, but the brokers and insiders make a hefty profit. And it's not clear if the full $50 per barrel goes to Venezuela. I guess when your a hostage, you get what's offered.

The America-first dictator is now threatening nations globally with military strikes. He's a madman with an army and nukes. The purse strings need to be cut so he doesn't launch us into WWIII.
But that won't happen until after Congress is remade. The midterms are the last best hope for that.

The fall of Rome and what it could have been are different paths, a choice. For Rome, what could have been ended the day the Republic died. And Caesar declared himself emperor. Many more followed. But never again a Republic.

Our choice today: self-determination and democracy or emperors and oil.
