Depth buffering has slightly reduced performance but I think it'll pay off in the end when I'm drawing sprites so I don't have to sort them all every frame

Think is I'm using 16 bit words for each pixel using a R5G5B5 format so I can kinda just change to a 32 but dword and store the depth right next to the colour and just copy it to the backbuffer without the depth

I think the same about games. Way too much time making them good or have years worth of lore in the story. Just let me jump about in a shitty little world someone made in like an hour
