the other thing we came back to bluesky for was to share this photo with @patstaresat.bsky.social , who Benzo decided to watch along with one of his parents the other day. we love Caboose too and we wish Benzo was as well behaved!

coming back to bluesky for a little bit for a few things

first: one of my favorite internet people, @vaspider.gay , is facing some enormous vet bills for Ser Davos Seawoof, a dog that is Benzo's spiritual brother in trauma and neediness and being a tremendous problem for all concerned

they had to shave his forelegs for the IV and blood work, but the fur's growing back. the lab results came back, and he was so healthy that his vet doesn't quite believe that he just turned seven

the little man had a rough day, had his comprehensive physical exam and teeth cleaning today, and he decided the world was a bit too much to handle when we got home

but the vet said he did really well, better than he has before, and left this for us

today is The Day We Celebrate Benzo's Birthday

the shelter didn't know how old he was, so they made an estimate based on his teeth and other things, and we decided that their arbitrary choice of June 5th was as good as any other day
