Modelling pet peeve of the night...

Don't buy these TCS Micro-connectors. For what they are, those plastic frames the pins and sockets go into are not secure and they will come apart. I've had it happen to 3 locomotives already, including my P10 which I'm very proud of. Just buy generic instead.

These also interface with Bachmann 6 pin connectors like on their 4-4-0s but feature much thicker wires as well, good for a more solid ride.

Here are how the new pickups look like. The insulated drivers on the engineer side get an extra pickup rod of nickel steel atop them, mounted on the brake hanger hinge, while the insulated tender wheels get new wire scrapers. That’s 8.5 axles of pickup!!

The San Joaquin Daylight flies again with a newly-rewired and sound-installed #southernpacific Balboa P10 Pacific locomotive I’ve previously shown off here! I’ve also improved the pickups immensely for more reliable operations at other layouts.

Honest to god, how hard is it to just not be bigoted against someone’s gender or ethnicity nowadays?

Being nice may be treading through ambiguous waters, but the investment pays dividends.

And if you’re not sure with someone’s vibes, assume ignorance over malice unless otherwise.
