Scathing dissent from Justice Kagan:

"[T]his Court reverses that judgment based on its perusal, over a holiday weekend, of a cold paper record. We are a higher court than the District Court, but we are not a better one when it comes to making such a fact-based decision."

ICE is boxing people in on the I-5 near Seattle and kidnapping them. Seattle, you cannot tolerate this. You MUST take a stand. The more you let them get away with, the worse it will get. If we have learned anything this last year, it is that failure to act only emboldens them. #seattle #ICE #pnw

New in PN: A war criminal without a war

"We’re watching the flimsy justifications fall apart in real time. They can try to shift the blame. They can try to say that people clinging to wreckage for dear life are somehow an active threat. But in the end, it’s just murder."

Tyson is closing a Nebraska plant that employs 3200 workers to “right-size” its business.

The company is one of four giants that control 80% of meat processing.

This corporate monopoly is great for Tyson’s executives and a raw deal for everyone else. Watch:

It’s totally normal and not at all strange that the Speaker of the House a) doesn’t follow the news and b) apparently doesn’t know anything about his boss being credibly accused or murder and violating international laws.
RAJU: If defenseless survivors were killed, would that constitute a violation of the laws of war?

MIKE JOHNSON: I'm not going to prejudge any of that. I was pretty busy yesterday. I didn't follow a lot of the news.

Reminder that the penalty for drug smuggling under US law is 10 years to life imprisonment and a fine. It is not now nor has it ever carried the death penalty. Even in cases where loss of life is involved.

Even if it WERE, that is the role of a jury to decide, not the military.
