I also wrote about Co Springs Utilities' issues with leaking and corroded natural gas lines throughout the city. The issue led to a consent agreement last year (kind of a big deal) and will cost rate payers an extra $7-10 a month starting this summer.
Colorado Springs Utilities (CSU) will be raising rates for natural gas customers in 2026 as part of a Sept. 30, 2025, consent agreement with the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration due to corroded and leaking natural gas lines.
