Why @bianchiweather.bsky.social and I are allowed on live TV together is a mystery to me. And our boss
Learned today that umamusume horse girls and Denver weathermen with closed captioning fails both want the Broncos to win on Saturday

I read this is the clearest sign yet that Gov Jared Polis (D) will grant clemency to Tina Peters. Well done by @ryanhasaquestion.bsky.social, asking a new question about deeply-covered topic.
🧵 CO's Sec't of State, county clerks and League of Women Voters are pleading with Gov. Polis not to pardon Tina Peters. In an interview just now, I asked what his message is to them.

"If you want to run for governor, you can be governor and then you have the ability to grant clemency and pardons."

#Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (@colorado.gov) had a lot to say in his final state speech. Led by our politics team, @coloradosun.com staff broke down his speech line by line and we noted his hits and misses.
Colorado’s governor gave his 8th and final State of the State speech. We analyzed everything he said.
Jared Polis delivered his last — and by far longest — State of the State address on Thursday. It was part victory lap, part vindicating and part forward looking.

NEW: Colorado Court of Appeals just heard arguments in Tina Peters’ case. Judges seemed to dismiss the idea that Peters was wrongly convicted or had federal immunity for her actions, but expressed deep concern she was over-sentenced.

This article on the rise of the "synagogue of Satan" slur mentions Colorado GOP gubernatorial candidate Joe Oltmann, who has discussed the "synagogue of Satan Jews" as he calls for the execution of Colorado's Democratic officials (who are Jewish).

What the 'synagogue of Satan' slur tells us about Christian antisemitism
Billy Graham’s use of the phrase underscored a connection between Christianity and antisemitism seen in the 2026 Mississippi synagogue fire.

COMMENTARY: If Governor Polis gives clemency to Tina Peters, it may end up being his legacy. And it could depend on whether appeasing President Trump works.

Colorado Gov Polis was live on the CBS Evening News tonight (East Coast version just aired). No news was made. Polis stuck to familiar talking points. CBS praised Polis as a different (more sensible/moderate) Dem. Glowing, but not the full "Marco Rubio, we salute you" treatment.

It's a good problem to have... Our viewers' generosity through our Word of Thanks microgiving campaigns averaged more than $50k/week 2025. But that's more than we can give to small non-profits, even great ones, so we've been doing collabs like 👇 www.arapahoeco.gov/news_detail_...

CBS Evening News is in Denver on Monday. Tony Dokupil says here that Coloradans want Republicans’ “Big Beautiful Bill” no tax on overtime through 2028 reflected in state tax code.

“People want it here at the state level, too”

I haven’t seen polling on this. Perhaps they have it

Credit to Jake Tapper/CNN for acknowledging the obvious here, which a number of journalists/media outlets are unwilling or unable to state clearly.
Tapper to Noem: "I just showed you video of people attacking law enforcement officers on J6. Trump pardoned them all. You said Trump is enforcing all the laws equally. That's just not true. There's a different standard for LEOs being attacked if they're being attacked by Trump supporters."

Had a bonkers (and kinda entertaining) exchange with GOP-turned-unaffiliated candidate for Colorado governor, Greg Lopez. About whether Dems will again boost his campaign in order to sabotage Republicans, like in 2022. For those outside Colorado politics, a brief explanation…

This was an odd one. A prominent district attorney asked 9NEWS for a correction. And inadvertently made news in the process.
NEW: As Douglas County's proposed ordinance to fine businesses for every unreported shoplifter draws criticism, District Attorney George Brauchler (R) says he doesn't back the plan.

He did not say that in his 13 min remarks at last month's news conference unveiling the ordinance
