What is it about me that attracts kindly older people?

I was having coffee earlier and someone approached me, making the observation that I was deep in thought and asked where they knew my face from.

Apparently they'd seen me around town multiple times and recognised me.

I still can't believe that I'll be travelling overseas next month, and be in another country for my next birthday.

The excitement and anxiety are both starting to creep in. I can't wait to go, but at the same time, the unfamiliarity with what's required to get there is making me nervous.
