The car headlights on the street look like fallen stars, and Yoongi can't help but think he's like one of them-bright and still fighting but already past their prime. He looks at his reflection when the train enters the tunnel, and he tries his best to flash a smile. It doesn't reach his eyes.

To Yoongi's immense surprise, the night brings with it no solace. It should not surprise him. The nighttime is not the infallible blanket it was in his youth.
The tent of darkness that shrouds the world no longer spreads its canvas wings to embrace Yoongi as it once did.
It wasn't always the case. When Yoongi was six years old and discovered that time for bed was not, in fact, a magic spell that knocked you out, and you could stay up as long as your body allowed you— well, it had certainly felt like unlocking the secrets of the universe.

That was when Yoongi discovered Namjoon's peculiar little habit: setting the air conditioner ridiculously low before taking a shower. Namjoon loves his showers hot-scalding, even—and stepping back into a cold room afterward is his way of cooling down.
Yoongi, on the other hand, would groan every single time, burying himself under Namjoon's blanket, muttering complaints about how he was going to turn into an icicle. But he never actually turned the air conditioner off. Not once. Because, like the softie that he was, Yoongi could never bring himself to mess with something that makes Namjoon happy.

Sometimes Yoongi will lay on the floor of his home studio with the volume cranked up. He can barely hear the notes, but he can feel the song in his chest. 'Talking to the Moon' plays on repeat and sometimes he cries. He's afraid one day he'll lose his memory of the song when he could still hear it perfectly, but the beat and rhythm soothes and comforts him still.

his kind words, his lyrics, his entire artistry and how he is unapologetically himself -- its warm and encouraging, enough to hold anyone through their life's journey.

SNIPPET TEXT

The air is still around him, while his light-shadow lumeri stirs just under his skin. Then, he presses down, a soft note ringing out, followed by a thread of his light-shadow lumeri. A few notes gradually turn into many, with Yoongi melting into the music and pouring out the feelings that swirl in his chest onto the piano and through his lumeri.

It feels different — a little more raw, a little more of his longing being exposed, note by note. He can’t find it in himself to stop, his fingers dancing along the keys as he moves to the music he creates.

The desk was one full of memories. Before, it had belonged to Yoongi’s uncle. His mother’s only brother and the only connection he had to his family for most of his life. Once his uncle passed, leaving the store to Yoongi, the desk became his. It had taken a while for it to really feel like his though. He thought maybe it hadn’t felt like it belonged to him, the desk or the music store, until after he had met Jimin.

Now, it was the only thing separating Yoongi from Jimin. However easily that separation might be broken, it didn’t matter to Yoongi as he shuffled through the bills and invoices that littered the desk. All that mattered was that it was there, giving him distance. Distraction.

He wasn’t ready for this conversation.
