Congratulations to Councillor John Paul-Ennis, the LGIU's Young Councillor of the Year!

A well-deserved win for someone who has done so much to open politics up to young people in our area and beyond.

For the first time in 30 years, the government is freezing rail fares, making rail travel a bit more affordable and putting more money in passengers’ pockets.

I joined this morning's Action on ASB Brixton roundtable on antisocial behaviour.

We had an update from local councillors, police and other stakeholders and heard about tried and tested solutions in other areas.

Vital that we all keep working together to address this issue.

On this day in 1999, Bernie Grant MP called for an official state apology for enslavement and colonialism during PMQs.

The British government has never truly apologised.

Sign this petition calling on them to do so and take the first steps toward reparative justice ✍🏿

The government's immigration proposals will be damaging for migrants and our country as a whole.

We need a humane and evidence-based approach to immigration policy that reflects our country's needs and recognises the contribution migrants make.

The government's latest asylum proposals seem calculated to do nothing but inflict more misery and uncertainty on people seeking safety in this country.

This is not opposing the politics of hatred and division, this is holding the door open for them.

We talk a lot about resistance, struggle and fighting for our beliefs.

We don’t talk enough about healing.

Looking forwards to discussing this with Nova Reid next Tuesday in Parliament.

So pleased to hear our constituency could benefit from a new Super Loop bus route!

This new route will make a huge difference to local residents.

We recently dropped another round of your donations off at Little Village.

Thank you so much to everyone who has continued to donate pre-loved baby clothing and other essentials at my constituency office.

Keep the donations coming and we'll keep getting them to families who need them.

I was honoured to join a distinguished panel alongside @attorneybencrump.bsky.social and Dr. Epsy Campbell Barr, former Vice President of Costa Rica.

Chaired by Dr. Henderson Carter our discussion focused on how the global movement for reparatory justice can move from dialogue to delivery.

Our veterans deserve the best support possible.

I’m proud to see the Labour government setting up new local centres to help with health, housing and jobs.

A real boost for the 1,000+ veterans in our constituency.

On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day, we stop and reflect on the horrors of war, remembering all those killed in conflicts past and present around the world.

In honour of all those who lost their lives, we must keep striving for a more just and peaceful world.

This morning, elected representatives from across our borough laid wreaths at Lambeth Town Hall and Brixton's African and Caribbean War Memorial to remember all those from Lambeth and around the world who fought and died in both World Wars.

We will remember them all #RemembranceSunday

It was an honour to join Remembrance Sunday commemorations in Bridgetown, Barbados today.

Millions from across the Commonwealth fought and died in both World Wars.

We will remember them all.

Today, as we remember lives lost to war, we must keep speaking out against the horrors unfolding in Sudan, Gaza, Congo, Ukraine and everywhere conflict continues.

True remembrance requires us to speak up for peace and insist that every human life is of equal value.

Great visit to Iqra Primary with London Deputy Mayor Joanne McCartney to see universal free school meals in action and tour their new state-of the art kitchen.

When children eat well, they learn well.

Let's extend this scheme nationwide and invest in every child's future.

Ahead of this year's Remembrance Day commemorations, I planted a stake in Parliament's Gardens of Remembrance, recognising those from Clapham & Brixton Hill who lost their lives.

This weekend, we will remember all those killed, including the 133 men listed on Clapham Common War Memorial.

Some people get brunch on a Saturday morning.

Last weekend, our Clapham Town Labour team was out picking up litter in Clapham Common and knocking on doors.

Great to be out with them to clean up the Common and speak with local residents #LabourDoorstep

Congratulations to @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social on his historic election as Mayor of New York 🗽

An inspiring campaign rooted in people's real economic needs, which should be a blueprint for socialists and progressives around the world.

I was honoured to deliver this year’s @nujofficial.bsky.social's Claudia Jones Lecture at the Guardian.

As we face the rising threat of the far right, we must remember her insights into the nature of racism and emulate her inspiring efforts to organise against it.

I was honoured to speak at Southwark Council's Black History Month event recently, where I spoke about the difference between diversity and representation.

Standing firm in power and pride means speaking up on issues that impact minoritised communities - this month and every month.

The damage wrought on Jamaica, Haiti and Cuba by Hurricane Melissa is severe.

These countries did little to cause climate breakdown, yet are left facing its worst impacts.

My thoughts and prayers are with their people as relief, recovery and rebuilding efforts begin.
