If you're looking for a book on Schelling, Spinoza, and existence monism, I've got something for you. Bookshop.org is a really cool site. I always donate to Uncle Bobbie's Coffee & Books and if you'd like to pick up my book you can too!

Second year in a row where my SPEP submission will have an epigraph from a metal band (last year it was Lorna Shore).

I'm really hoping that one of these days I'll never have to write another job application. That day is not today.

"Red Rain" into "Sledgehammer" is such a killer transition.

I feel like some of y'all need to take a break from sports. Doesn't seem to be bringing much joy.

Back at it for this year's SPEP submission. Seems in recent years they have been less interested in papers on German Idealism (I guess that's fair) but here we go, trying once again.

Shortest possible form of the abstract: Why was Kant afraid of swimming?

Anyone out there have favorite philosophical readings of the book of Jonah? Preferably in the Kantian/post-Kantian or contemporary continental traditions. Thanks!!!

The new AngelMaker album "This Used to be Heaven" is pretty cool if there are any metalheads out there looking for new tunes.

Ok fine. "Ænema" is my favorite Tool album, but "Lateralus" is the best Tool album.

I've spent the last few weeks returning to a paper on monism and eternity in Plato, Spinoza, and Schelling. My brain is starting to melt. Thankfully I still have a couple months to finish it.

“This knowledge in which the eternal self-identity recognizes itself is reason” (Schelling, SW I/6, 141).

I think I found the perfect beer for editing: "Articulate Yourself" DIPA from the folks at Tired Hands.

The chapter is called "Speculation(s) on Life, Death, and Other Related Matters", and I'm pretty happy with how it's coming together. Excited to share it with everyone when the time is right.

Reposting just in case.
Does any kind soul out there have a pdf of Chris Lauer's "Spinoza’s Third Kind of Knowledge as a Resource for Schelling’s Empiricism" from Pli vol. 18 they would be willing to send me? I used to have it printed out but it has since been lost. Please and thanks!!!

Still hard to believe that at one time we had a world in which Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins were in the same band.

Finally got around to starting Chantal Jaquet's "Time, Duration and Eternity in Spinoza". So far I'm really enjoying it.

"We are 'always already' eternal, even if we do not know (savons) it" (73).

Hell. Yeah.

This one was hard to track down, but it finally got here all the way from Australia. "Emergency Rations" is a killer EP. Top-notch post-9/11 anti-capitalist rap. One of these days Lif will get the recognition he deserves.
