Millions of Americans could face a slow and almost imperceptible re-pricing of their biggest asset.

this is well worth your time

eg, Gates wrote about one unnamed "low-income country that set out to cut emissions by banning synthetic fertilizers. Farmers’ yields plummeted, there was much less food available, and prices skyrocketed"

But climate was NOT among the reasons Sri Lanka tried to do that
I quite enjoyed a lot of the takedowns of Bill Gates' EA brain snap on climate. It is really deadassed in a number of ways.

But no-one mentioned the most important thing. He isn't *just* full of shit. He knows he is full of shit.

I can prove it: timinclimate.medium.com/even-bill-ga...
Even Bill Gates knows he is full of shit
Did you hear about that “one low-income country set out to cut emissions by banning synthetic fertilizers”?

This is typical of the kid gloves treatment of Bill Gates pivot toward Bjorn Lomborg-style climate downplaying that we're seeing from legacy media. The beltway reporters are entirely complicit in what some are rightly terming an ecocidal plutocratic agenda.

Gates' comments reflect how society's current zeitgeist has pushed climate change off the front burner.

Roughly three in four Americans believe “if a wealthy donor or corporation gains influence over or access to an elected official, I consider that official to be corrupt,” and agree that unlimited campaign spending makes democracy weaker.

"Citizens United" - the name itself is a farce
79% of Americans, inc 74 % of Republicans, disagree with the Supreme Court’s 2010 Citizens United ruling, which found that unlimited campaign giving does not give rise to corruption or the appearance of it, nor does it cause citizens to lose faith in democracy

Not sure what's most worrying: reading this (and in the WSJ), or finding out nobody seems to care

Seen from Europe, the US has become a banana republic...

🚨 The news-media is utterly failing to cover these momentous scientific findings.

The public is not being informed of the danger posed.

The UK chief scientist Dame Angela McLean just highlighted this as an issue of national security - why are no news outlets covering it ?!? 🤯

But this can be done in a way that accelerates decarbonisation, reinforcing climate action even as climate consequences spiral
