I'm maybe not the best at understanding a lot this stuff, but the Budget seems... ok. Hardly the groundbreaking shoring up of the Welfare system and the NHS and the taxing of the richest businesses and individuals I'd like to see, but it doesn't feel actively evil.

The basket bit on the cat tree appears to be perfect for measuring one level basketful of cat. It is clearly the best thing that has ever happened to Gus.

Arkham Origins has some obvious issues and suffers from not having Conroy and Hamil as Batman and Joker, but it's still a great game and the Joker's design and animation is absolutely one of the best there's been in a game.

Ari isn't quite convinced, but that's partially because she wants to sleep on the top floor but that means she's just close enough for Gus to reach up and bap her on the head from below.

The cats tower we had was starting to look a bit tatty and small (Gus is a very large cat, but it was a bit small for Ari too and she's fairly slight) so we got a new one and once Gus worked out how to get in the basket bit he clearly decided that's where he lives now.

Months ago I got this micro version of the Lego gingerbread house in a charity shop and I built it last night. It's really great, and I'm rather inclined to see if I can make a bit more of a micro gingerbread village to go with it.

Ok, so you know last night when I was pondering a fourth pair of custom glitter Converse? I am still pondering them, with the options being pale gold, pale pink, dark silver or silver (either all one colour or possibly with white glitter tongues)

I have early Christmas money from my parents (in case I want to buy an actual present) and i have a 25% off custom Converse code. I also already have three pairs of glitter Converse (hot pink, drak gold and black). What i don't have is pale pink ones. Or maybe light gold. Or white.

I have finished building my MoC Lego Christmas Train (honestly, bar some colour changes and some tweaks to the wheels necessitated by having older train parts it is basically the same as the set released this year). Aristotle is a bit bemused by it.

OK, even if you're not a Disney fan you have to admit this is a pretty incredible bit of design and engineering and I cannot wait to see him meeting actual park visitors

Teapot update: it's actually almost the same size as my regular one and pours a bit fiercely but without drips or splashes so it's going to be the actual Christmas teapot and not just a Christmas decoration

Many years ago I had a pair of fantastic black, brocade trousers that probably came from Top Man or something like that and I wore them till they were literally threadbare and I really, really want something similar again.

So what is MTG up to? It seems odd to have had such a massive political change of heart, go "my job is done" after the files are released and then just disappear off into the sunset. She must have a longterm game plan, mustn't she?
