a chapter length should have you going “when the fuck does this chapter end” and its still got like at least 15 pages left. in my objective and morally correct opinion. if you disagree you will be hearing from both my legal team and your deity of choice for your transgressions

OMG its like. i wanna like it but the writing is SOOOO uninspired to me…i just read the part where he watches the bodycam footage of his ex wife WHY was it existing a cliffhanger and then the next THREE PAGE CHAPTER a description of it + his minimal response and thats it. IT SHOULD BE 1 CHAPTER !!!!

the plot is pretty interesting but ultimately this sort of cut and dry writing style that reads of r/creepypasta multi-instalment stories sucks butt to me. i like a book to be sorta confusing until i finish it and think about it as a whole or the tiniest bit hard to follow but still parsable. u know

ending every chapter of a book with a cliffhanger you’re going to immediately address at the beginning of the next is sooo boring. what happened to ending a chapter with the natural conclusion of a scene. this is why i never read books with the chapters are like 7 pages long

not having access to books where i live is half cool because it means i just pirate ebooks to read on a kindle and therefore save so much money but i miss the smell of a paperback and i cant wait to live in a city where i can go to secondhand bookshops again
