Friar Bacon and Friar Bungay by Robert Greene. We will now begin the groundwork to make this into a full cast audio adaptation over the next year or so, and maybe some of the runners up will go into production too.

🌡️It's a bit nippy out, maybe it's time for an Old Wives' Tale as told by an old wife. Silliness abounds in George Peele's The Old Wives' Tale, as recorded live at our 2023 Winter Revels. 🐻‍❄️ #audio #AudioDrama #Bear #Magic #storytelling #adventure #fireside #tale #theatre audioboom.com/posts/862347...

so excited to see that the Red Bull Theater in NYC is doing a reading of Ben Jonson's Sejanus Jan 26th (and there's a Zoom option if you're not in the region). Thinking about building this or their reading of Roaring Girl in March into my syllabus.....

Absolutely extraordinary - and hugely welcome: a great archive collection of Ibsen productions and docs coming to BBC Four and iPlayer; the earliest is the 1953 (!) Lady from the Sea with Irene Worth and Robert Harris, produced by Harold Clayton.

😈It's the morning of Tuesday 6th of January, and somewhere a group of players are gathering to rehearse Pierce Penniless: His Supplication to the Devil by Thomas Nashe. It is cold outside (but devilishly warm within) as they navigate the questions: what to cut, what to keep, and where is the coffee?

🎉It's our end of the year round up! Yes, quite of lot of pre-modern drama happened. Not in places you'd necessarily hope or expect it, but it was there. Some stats to follow... maybe. #drama #EarlyModern #Medieval #PreModern #Theatre audioboom.com/posts/882156...
