He’s not corrupt that we see, he doesn’t hurt anyone that isn’t actively attacking him (and when he realizes he is, he stops ala the Taco Bell scene).

We see his captain yelling at him for property damage, but he’s portrayed as a hero cop who saves lives. His actions are fairly justified for the circumstances, and the “demolition” stuff is incidental. Spartan even decries his own violence.

He’s not Vic Mackey or anything

To this day though I use the quote “this fascist crap makes me want to puke” quite frequently

But I think that’s a common misconception about Spartan. Especially in comparison to other “violent cop” media from the 90’s glorifying police brutality.
