Postwar postcards by Zeev 'Shoshke' Engelmayer's. So beautiful.

Never let anyone tell you that empathy for the hostages = contempt for Palestinians. The desire for safety and happiness for innocent Israelis and Palestinians belong right next to one another in our hearts.

Woman is in public = "flaunts" face.
Woman wears anything but trousers = "puts on leggy display".

That's not even to mention the constant gross speculation about plastic surgery. Daily Mail and its pearl-clutching misogyny has the chutzpah to act like it's the last bastion of British morality.
Emma Stone continues to flaunt 'new face' at red carpet event
The actress, 36, showcased her 'transformation' in a mustard yellow, custom Louis Vuitton dress after she left fans shocked with her 'unrecognizable' look earlier this month.

Megan Kelly is a real shame. I don't think she believes anything she says. After she left Fox, she had a period where I think we saw her being herself. But then she went right back to this shit. She's intelligent, and a very effective communciator. It's a shame she uses her talen for this.

Yes, those are pictures of Obama with Putin. As you’d expect of any president
bigboardie.bsky.social
Right, where’s this aggression coming from and what are you like with people who properly disagree? 😆 I mean this is some personality disordered behaviour on a minor disagreement about a politician praising Trump — which most have. It’s not that deep. Chill.

What do you think I’m defending here? I’m just saying, America is very inward-looking. The rest of the world has to get on with stuff. To suggest Putin isn’t as bad as Trump is kind of crazy. The thing is Obama did nothing wrong. The world isn’t ideal. I don’t judge his actions
bigboardie.bsky.social
You seem to be speaking to someone not in the room. I'm not praising Trump. I'm just saying the guilt by association game is pretty lonely. It's one that, while attempting to isolate Trump, will only make him stronger. He's prepared for that. He can be used though. He is gullible.
bigboardie.bsky.social
Leaders of sovereign nations look after their country's interest first. I'm not saying it's ideal, but it's the reality. To not end up hypocritical, you'd have to say "fuck you" to every current world leader and probably to every president in US history.
bigboardie.bsky.social
Yeah, the thing is that's every world leader right now. The US has done the same in the past too. For instance, Obama praising Putin in 2009. Putin's record was already awful at that stage, equivalent with if not worse than Trump. But Russia's problems aren't America's problems.

I'm a lecturer, so research for a living. Strangely snarky reply to a well-natured comment, which was simply saying don't take anyone's word for it.

Well, yeah, there will be tankies simping for Maduro because he's ostensibly socialista too
bigboardie.bsky.social
He will, even if unintentionally, do thinks that are helpful. Hating every outcome connected to him just because it's him isn't logical.
bigboardie.bsky.social
This is why I hate partisanship. Look at people's actions. Don't do guilt by association or anything like that. People's worlds revolve around Trump right now. Which I understand. I'd be pretty upset if he was my president. But leaders like her have be pragmatic about his utility.
bigboardie.bsky.social
Because he's the enemy of her enemy? In the same way that many presidents have praised powerful but awful leaders from other countries. He could be very helpful to her. Not everything is about the US.
bigboardie.bsky.social
I'd say do your own research. People are losing their shit becuase she praised Trump. At the end of the day, a powerful enemy of her enemy is a good ally. She'd be silly not to.
bigboardie.bsky.social
What about her would qualify her as far-right?
bigboardie.bsky.social
A way to intellectualise it too. People keep coming after us like we made it up. We never said we were a race either. But those designations have become part of the collective understanding now.

This is a war crime. The Tatmadaw of Myanmar (Burma) are getting more desperate and more brutal. The price is being paid by normal, peaceful civilians. The conflict is so complex, with so many armed groups, it's hard to see a way out. It needs international attention.

Never a dull day in the US, this coming out of Tennessee an explosives facility... well, exploded. About 19 either unaccounted for or confirmed to have passed away. It appears to be an accident.

But that's not going to happen and you shouldn't want it to. Retribution is not the answer, and you don't have any right to demand retributive violence that Palestinians (at least in Gaza) do not want. It astonishes me that people outside of Gaza are more unreasonable than those inside.
bigboardie.bsky.social
People are a product of their environments. We're living in a fantasy if we think we'd be radically different from them. I say the same for the Israeli civilians too. It's easy to demonize an entire population, but it's really hard to back that up with evidence. People are generally good-natured.
bigboardie.bsky.social
Ahh, yes. Very sorry. You're absolutely right here. I should have checked that first. I remember now, it was support for the attack. Everything you say makes sense. Even if support for Hamas was consistent and widespread, we'd have to sit back and think for a second.

My post wasn't a critique of either of you. I said accusations of antisemitism shouldn't be used to defend Israel's actions. I gave examples of antisemitism that people often miss and then explained where the line is, "it should be about the gov't and its actions (not Jews, no[t] Zionists, Israel)."
