Helen Branswell

The affected facility recently imported cattle from another state that has identified cases of HPAI in cattle, which suggests the virus may be transmitted from cow-to-cow, in addition to previous reports indicating cattle were acquiring the virus from infected birds.

New paper out shows that repeated exposure to Omicron lineages (incl via vax) can redirect our immune response away from ancestral wuhan strain imprinting enabling it to better respond to the new lineages www.nature.com/articles/s41... (may do a fuller explanation if of interest in substack)
Repeated Omicron exposures override ancestral SARS-CoV-2 immune imprinting - Nature
Exposure to early variants of SARS-CoV-2 results in immune imprinting in mouse models and in humans, reducing neutralizing antibody titres against Omicron variants, which could be mitigated with multi...

Seroprevalence of HPAI in stray cats in Spain is ~2.19%. Not all mammals munching infected birds are dying.

HPAI now confirmed in the Antarctic region. Both the region (South Georgia) and the species (Skuas) were highlighted as the highest risk in our risk assessment. Overall, devastating news. www.bas.ac.uk/media-post/f...
