It's strange that Id Software only make dumb action games. Their edge is innovation in graphics and engine optimization and they're just making games where the player moves too fast and too thoughtlessly to appreciate the art, in a gameworld of ordinary scale and complexity. A waste.

Whoa, what's this? The Nintendo switch pro 2 controller has a third pair of rear triggers on the back!
This is becoming a standard at this point, there's so much we can do with this! eg, the controls for the next armored core game can be made exactly 4 times more complicated!

Surprisingly, it's possible that one of the most "cohabitive" (ie: socially interesting makopool.com/peacewagers....) games of 2025/26 may end up being Marathon. It seems more positive-sum than other extractionshooters: fighting players is risky and not always required by your contract.
