Whilst we welcome Zitting Cisticola as a long-predicted colonist in the wake of climate change, we must also recognise that the arrival of such northern range edge species means that we are condemned to lose the likes of Willow Warbler, Ring Ouzel and Twite from the south

I thought I was having a good day with an image of one of the juveniles from the 1st recorded breeding of Zitting cisticola in the UK. On review I found four juveniles and the adult female🤯

An outing out of the area yesterday to Seven Sisters Country Park with Alan Martin and @birdingbodds.bsky.social found a small colony of the rare Scarce Blue-tailed Damselfly, including this mating pair.
