Remembering the great Ingrid Pitt, who died on this day in 2010.

Here's my portrait of her as Countess Dracula. The original - glazed, mounted and framed - is available to buy from here:

You know the sound the TARDIS makes? That wheezing, groaning? That sound brings hope wherever it goes.
Yes. Yes, I like to think it does.
To anyone who hears it, Doctor. Anyone. However lost. Even you.

Happy 62nd birthday Doctor Who. Thanks for all the great adventures and for the friendships made, I will always be grateful 😀🎉

Star Turn/Star Turn Challenge - Children's BBC's celeb parlour game smackdown fronted by Bernard Cribbins in the guise of notion-having deerstalker-adjusting detective Ivor Notion. Oddly forgotten now for a show with so many none-more-seventies guests.

Thanks to Paul Magrs for this lovely book that he wrote a few years ago. It’s about a young boy who wins a competition to meet David Bowie at a screening of Labyrinth. It’s magical and heartwarming and a book I love to read every Christmas. @paulmagrs.bsky.social

I love Ronald Howard as Sherlock Holmes. I wish he had recorded more than 39 episodes of the 1954 series, I really enjoyed them all.

Ep 1 of ‘The Box of Delights’ was first broadcast on 21st November 1984. It remains one of my traditional preparations for Christmas - one episode every week until Christmas Eve as originally shown.

‘Electricity’ from the musical ‘Billy Elliott’ is one of my favourite songs from a musical, it’s so, so good.

I love musical theatre and listened to City of Angels again. I remember Martin Smith being in the touring production. Perhaps in the early nineties? He had a remarkable voice and I wish he was still here. The song 'You're Nothing Without Me' is a favourite of mine.

I received a certificate from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2020. I am happy that I was able to study with them and complete a play reading course. It was a great time, and we read a play every week and completed a scene from each one. 😀❤️

I loved ‘The Ghosts of Oxford Street’ 1991 TV special. It was atmospheric and there were some great songs including ‘Magic’s Back’ by Alison Limerick. It included Tom Jones, Sinéad O'Connor, Rowetta, Shaun Ryder and documented the history of Oxford Street, loosely narrated by Malcolm McClaren.

I can't believe Daft Punk's One More Time is now 25 years old. The album Discovery completely blew my mind when it was released in 2001. One of the most effervescent bits of creativity I've ever heard. We need Daft Punk back in our lives now more than ever.
