Today is a day for Gen 3 as it is the 22 Anniv. of Ruby and Sapphire, 22 Anniv. of Advance generation, and the 10th Anniv. of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

I can see those two being friends and having a nice dynamic together.

I always took that as Diana stating such FOR THE AUDIENCE, and not an actual time indicator (as she states "a while back" in EP24). Such claim of "one year ago" is in reference to when she last referenced Hamber. It's out-of-universe meta-text slipping its way into episode narrative FOR THE AUDIENCE

I made this old thing back in 2021 in light of Blizzard being the worst, and it continues to age pretty well all things considered.
Probably should've used stronger language but I sometimes worry about accidentally triggering someone by describing in detail how evil some people can truly be.
