- Greninja would actually be a recurring Pokémon across the saga, and he rejoins the roster to aid in the crisis. Unlike with XY, he remains on the team afterwards.

I picked this team for the following reasons;

- Pikachu’s his main, so of course he’d have it.
- Pidgeot can Mega Evolve, and Ash can get her stone while in Lumiose.
- Bayleef, Totodile and Pignite are the Starters, so of course he’d have them. ⬇️

I like it when Pokémon trainers show off their Mega Stones for everyone to see on their clothes and accessories.
It's like they're proudly showing that they have a strong bond with their Pokémon, or just showing that they're really strong and shouldn't be messed with.

I often give the Combusken from this episode to Ash.

Before anyone says “oh but it overlaps with May’s Torchic”, you do realise Combusken could serve as a means for Torchic to grow, right?

Plus, Ash does kinda need a long-term Fighting-type for this portion of his journey in terms of coverage.
