So I majorly messed up my Italotrains by booking a whole journey for the wrong day *facepalm*

Although, an on-the-day ticket for a five-hour train south was just €45, a bargain compared to British trains. Just a shame I've paid twice.

The correct solution is probably to leave every tap in the middle and stop overthinking things

There is no consistency to this type of tap. Turning the handle left EITHER produces hot water because the red icon is in line with the tap OR produces cold water because that's the direction you pushed in.

This tap when turned left produces hot water. My bathroom is the opposite. What's correct?
A one-handled tap pointed north-west, with a blue mark on the left hand side of the dial and a red mark on the right.
