SO the best guide I was told from victims of the same (or similar hackers) Which of course doesn't help knowing after the fact, BUT for sake of hopefully letting the info out for others or to keep in mind in the future is the following.
DISCONNECT YOUR WIFI IMMEDIATELY! (This can hopefully stop them from accessing more, but won't stop them completely) IF YOU ARE A VICTIM CURRENTLY BEING RANSOMED **DO NOT PAY THE RANSOM!** STALL THEM! AND LIE TO THEM! SAY YOU WILL PAY (but DO NOT PAY) Tell them to wait, make excuses, go slowly, They want money and if you make them feel they will get it, they will keep listening. Tell them you are desperate and that you will pay! BUT DO NOT ACTUALLY PAY! Give them HOPE you will pay them so you can work ON RECOVERY! USE MOBILE DATA ON A SEPERARTE DEVICE from the Compromised DEVICE! (I know not everyone can do this, but regrettably this is what has to be done to recover as much as you can depending on what was taken/being taken) FOCUS on your Emails first and foremost! Change those passwords and sign them out! Then work on your important accounts linked to the emails you CAN'T ACCESS! Change the emails to those accounts if you can with and then Change those ACCOUNT passwords! ASK them questions While stalling ask them how you need to do things, Tell them you are doing it! You Will still need to message the hacker saying that you're trying to pay them and that you "WILL" pay them all the while! (Of course STILL DO NOT PAY) TAKE DEEP BREATHS THIS IS STRESSFULL BUT YOU CAN RECOVER MORE FROM THEM IF YOU ARE CALM AND FOCUSED! With any luck you HOPEFULLY will be able to recover as much as you can and can sign them out before they can do any more damage! SIGN out the compromised device so that it can't connect to the accounts you managed to recover! You will need to get your computer looked into WITHOUT WIFI ON IT to remove the malware completely! I know the likely hood of a victim finding this Reddit post will probably be after the fact, BUT if by chance a victim sees this BEFORE the hacker messages you OR WHILE they are messaging you I HOPE this all helped, NOW For the info to share to spread the word and to hopefully help spare victims.

I just realized something that kind of pisses me off more, people will say these scams have gone on for years and people shouldn't fall for them which is bullshit because not everyone knows the intricities of these scams and they are a lot more complex and believable than people think. HOWEVER....

If i knew how or was able I would so make a bot that does what I'm doing manually to try and help victims and document the current scams going around. Half the time I see folks say they got hacked while I'm asleep or busy only for hours after to share the info that could help them.

At this point, everyday I'm just going to repost the hack warning and I'm sorry if that bothers people that follow me but every day I see people get hacked, by the scam, I know the degrees of separation between me and everyone else in the world is not vast but spreading the word can do a lot.

Discord is on thin ice, lack of support to victims of hackers they allow to propagate and thrive, changes and need for ID verification when they ALREADY proved sending them your ID puts you at risk, and mix in the ipo & survey on if people would accept AI features..... really need an alternative.

still not thrilled a lot of people just responded to the discord screencap with derision, a couple friends noted they _did_ see multiple links circulating yesterday morning. but it’s true that the real scams listed in this thread (the fake game scam included) haven’t been getting enough attention.

There are REAL scams going on and the Fake game scam may have evolved into a "Hi can you help me test something" IT scam

I would normally search "discord hacked" to try to help victims on here, but all I see now are people calling out the fake warning, meme on it, or spreading the false info.

For additional bump & to show, these hackers will use stolen video trailers from real games upload them to YouTube, often mark them unlisted & sometimes change the title & description to whatever new fake game they've made a site for. THEY will do ANYTHING to make you think the fake games are real!
