The administration is removing phone support for Soc Security recipients. Making it more difficult for seniors to get their checks. It’s a back door way to cut SS benefits. Horrific.

I used to shy away from posts like this. I agreed with the sentiment-- teachers are always, always about taking responsibility-- but posting such bold and unlikely sentiments felt like I wasn't going to win friends. I wanted to be a moderate lefty. Not go overboard.

There is no statewide minimum wage where you can rent a two bedroom apartment without spending over 30% of your income on rent
Only 7% of counties are livable off their minimum wages (none being the fed. min. wage)
The minimum wage should be increased to at least $18 an hour and linked to inflation

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.
