I prefer the movie cut of "A Kiss At The End Of The Rainbow" (from A MIGHTY WIND (2003)), with everyone else reacting off stage (and followed by the title track), but this "pure" version is nice to have as well. The Oscars version, also on youtube, is nice as well.

And when the veil of dreams has lifted
And the fairy tales have all been told
There's a kiss at the end of the rainbow
More precious than a pot of gold

There might not be a more touching scene in a comedy movie

Some gorgeous Gerhard painting over Bissette (‪@stephenrbissette.bsky.social‬) line art. The upcoming TYRANT reprints promise to be a visual delight
Original art rescued & returned this past week by Murphy Anderson III: Gerhard's original painted colors (over a photocopy of my original cover b&w art) for TYRANT® #4.

Never thought we'd ever see this again—and it's thankfully here! Scanning from source materials for TYRANT® crowdfunder in Feb.

Cardinal Syn, first-ever drawing of the fella (fresh from a nightmare that 1982 morning) original art, back in my hands for the first time since I shipped it off for production back in 1996. Whew!

Can't believe this (and other pieces of original art) are back home. But they are. Very thankful.

Along with PRIMITIVE WAR (2025), I have to cite Sid Bennett & Jay Basu's THE DINOSAUR PROJECT (2012) as a personal favorite of 21st century dino movies to date. Filmed in South Africa & like PRIMITIVE WAR, a pleasantly surprising, engrossing adventure that I've happily returned to more than once.

Just found out that Mike Kunkel's HEROBEAR AND THE KID not only has a recently released new edition of the original story, "The Inheritance" from Papercutz, but also an upcoming book "SAVING TIME PART ONE" reprinting an continuing the story that only got one issue deep a decade ago

Work continues on the S.R. BISSETTE'S TYRANT® project for Lighthouse's January-February 2026 crowdfunder. The art edition (scanned from the originals) is looking handsome as can be, and the companion "Complete" edition is absolutely massive—everything, and I mean just about everything, is in it!

Hey Steve!
Excited about the new Tyrant book.

I’m proudly sitting on a Tyrant sketch, so if you ever need some serious backup material, I’m clearly well stocked!

Perhaps the information was Taboo?

It was very dark and tormented early work, from which you obviously emerged strngr, Phil.

Incidentally, I am a very happy owner of a 'Tyrant' (?) sketch by @stephenrbissette.bsky.social

One of the surprises earlier this year was seeing this pencil original art again after so many decades. Slightly water-damaged (but scannable), my original pencils for the TYRANT® #4 cover art, which I inked on vellum overlay.

Thanks to Diana Schutz for holding on to this & for the return!

Not a dog guy, really, but these jokers cracked me up. There's even a third in the front seat, but either they ducked down or the window glare was too much

I enjoyed LADY KILLERS NO. 67, buy my favourite of the Solomon Comics line I read (which is just a fraction of the total) was SCIENCE TEAM O.V.E.R.A.L.L.S. NO. 42. Also a lot to be said for HAUTE STUFF NO. 666.
My 'secret life' in comics: during my 15 years of teaching at the Center for Cartoon Studies, I often collaborated with students (and sometimes alumni) on projects never seen outside of the CCS circles.

I am STILL embarrassed for DC over their 1960s ads.

Thanks to Bob Heer for reminding me...
How DC tried to sell comics in the 1960s. So the squares of the gogo checks are your assurance that DC comics... aren't from squaresville?

Upcoming @evandorkin.bsky.social Evan Dorkin reprint from Dark Horse. I have the three constituent hardcovers Dark Horse published (and most of the original Slave Labor comics), but I'm still tempted. Only wish we'd get HECTIC PLANET in a matching form someday
