Despite his Georgia roots, his drawl & his unbinding love for Atlanta’s Braves, David Andrews fit New England as well as any pro athlete of the past decade.

He’s repeatedly shown there’s nowhere else he’d rather be.

As a Patriots captain. And now in retirement. 985thesportshub.com/2025/06/06/s...
Socci's View: How Georgia's David Andrews became all-New England
Throughout his Patriots career, right to the very end, there was nowhere else David Andrews would rather be.

Drake Maye was 13-14 for 184 yards in the 2nd half and 6-6 for 90 yards in the 4th Qtr….Patriots have a DUDE.

He’s been good all season long, but he just got introduced to the world tonight.

Andy Borregales lifted the Patriots to the lead on the final snap of the first half and then did it again on the next-to-last snap of the second half.

Bills in the rivalry uniforms tonight and the numbers reflect a bit, and could be a bit tougher to pick up.

A challenge for our play-by-play friends like @BobSocci and we’ll see if it makes it tougher for Patriots coaches to identify players subbing in and out.

Perfect night for Patriots-Bills.

Brady's record. McCourty's pick 6 & Slater's lone score. Three passes to win. And lest we forget, the only-in-Buffalo times that no-so-foreign objects took the field. As the Patriots visit the Bills, memories of an old stadium for @985thesportshub.bsky.social.

It's been more than 50 years since NFL teams attempted this many field goals per game. 📈

Of note, with the Patriots' Marcus Jones coming off a franchise-record 167 punt return yards vs. Carolina, including an 87-yard score and 61-yarder to set up another TD.

A lot of talk re Panthers “dirty kicks” these days.

In 17 yrs in the NFL, special teams coach Tracy Smith has coached consistently good coverage units as an ex-assistant to ex-Patriots Brad Seely, Larry Izzo and Bill O’Brien.

His dad, Carl Smith, coached for Pete Carroll in New England.

I am so sorry for your loss. Bruce’s love for local teams and passion for what we do talking and writing about them were obvious. And very much appreciated! My prayers are with you and yours. I’ll be thinking of Bruce Sunday at 1, and on future game days to come. 🙏

A Hall of Famer on the call. First, Herman Edwards with the Miracle in The Meadowlands. Now this, from Merrill.
