Starting today I’m finally ready to learn what the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything is.

I already know the answer…

My wife has an Air, and is pretty happy with it (basic web surfing, email, occasional photo editing, online meetings). She rarely reboots it, yet it keeps working fluently.
I feel it would lack some compute/memory for me, mostly because I easily have a dozen applications open.

My current MacBook Pro (with M1 processor) is probably the best one I’ve had so far. ~3 years old now, doesn’t show any real signs of wear, screen in perfect condition, decent keyboard, etc.
I’ve probably grown used to it (I’m a Mac user since ~2005), but I like macOS for the type of work I do.

My kids are still using 2 of my old MacBook Pro laptops (~11 and ~7 years old now).
They’re definitely a bit worn down, screen is far from perfect, battery life is kinda poor, but they’re too good to really throw away.
They were pricey, but I wouldn’t doubt for a second what to but next.

Looking back to an excellent EESSI CI/CD hackathon in Copenhagen, which we organized in the wake of the EuroHPC User Days 2025.

Enthusiastic group of attendees, both in-person and remote.

Already looking forward to doing this again (perhaps in the wake of EuroHPC Summit 2026 in Cyprus...)

When you’re in Copenhagen, do as the Danish do: go to a Disturbed concert to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut album.

Fire, sparks, huge inflatables, great live music, enthusiastic crowd…

Oh, and somehow pay more than 10 Euro for a single normal-sized beer (tasty though!)

Copenhagen, I like the way you name your beers. And it’s quite tasty too!
