It's good, definitely more slow burn and the Folklore element is very interesting.
I have 3 on the go
📘: You Will Not Kill Our Imagination by Saaed Teebi
📱: The Isle in the Silver Sea by Tasha Suri
🎧: The Possession of Alba Diaz by Isabel Canas
Watching the new RHAP, and the fact it's only 26 minutes long says a lot of how cooked this season is. Lauran is a coward. If you are going to put up an alternative nom OWN IT. The only upside in the jury house that if Keanu ends up going to jury we get footage of Rachel telling him I told you so.
What Litfic have you been reading? I haven't encountered this and litfic is one of my most read genres. Did you happen to read one bad book and decided to make a sweeping generalization?
I want to popularize a term of art for this particular litfic genre trope: the Sad Boner Professor.

It's a novel about a Professor (usually of American Literature). He is Sad. Also, he has a Boner. His boner is inordinately interested in the sexy, sexy student: also, he's sad because: wife.

I have been a Big Brother live feed Watcher by Proxy for years. Thank you to all the Live Feed accounts who have carried this fandom on their backs. Production really shit the bed on this one. Good luck on the tanked ratings🖕 #bigbrother27 #bb27
I did not have good time when I read it. It was such a interesting idea that fell so flat.
Thr Long Way From a Small Angry Planet and the rest of the Wayfarer series should have been number one.
How to Steal a Galaxy
Murderbot
Of Monsters and Mainframes
The Sea of Tranquility
Overgrowth.
HAHAHAHAHA... No 🤪

📚Book Haul📚

My first official post on Pinksky. Here's a book haul from my recent stop at Massy Books in Vancouver last weekend.
I think I know what's going on now, I am about 50% of the way through now, so there is no something and then I will watch the House Salt stream when they read last year to hopefully make sense of somethings.
Currently listening to The Spear Cuts Through Water, the writing is excellent, but I have no idea whats going on yet also having a good time?🤣
Reviewing my custom stats( Thank you
@thestorygraph.com), I've realized I don't really use KU so I cancelled my subscription. I would rather promote and hype Boox and Kobo instead of feeding into the the Amazon Ecosystem.
Currently Me, this is the ONE TIME as a Canucks Fan I want to see Marchand absolutely goon out on Miller and Tkachuck Brothers. I want to see Canada walk away with the win and idk, maybe Europe and Canada should start their own hockey league. Just a thought.
I have so much reading to do, and I'm behind on ARC's so naturally I start playing BG3 after my toddler has gone to bed.😂
But if you are looking for Dystopian by Canadian and Indigenous authors I recommend Gutter Child by Jael Richardson and The Marrow Thieves by Cherie Dimaline instead.
I'm loving all this renewed excitement for CanLit, but we can keep this conversation without mentioned Margaret Atwood. I am hoping to make a video about this and provide some alternative recommendations.
I'm listening to Bitter by Awaeke Emezi and as we continue to discuss and recommend books that should be purchased and read due to threat of being banned. I would absolutely include Bitter in that and it's sequel Pet. These are must reads for High School imo.
Also glad I'm reading with my eyeballs instead of listening to the audiobook like the first book, because it really killed my full enjoyment of the story.
Currently Reading Cursebound and bless Saara El-Arifi for providing a summary to the first book. It was a big help.
I finished We Could Be Rats this Morning and oh boy did it not only did it this book read me for filth it had me I'm tears at parts.

When I convened the panels for a podcast series about books, we had little inkling of the storm to come. The current storm is one in a long history of US attacks on dissent through regulation of free speech, which includes your right to hear and read.

Can't think of a better time to publish this.
