Hope the war is really over, we’re exhausted and surrounded by destruction😭

We lost our home, everything we owned, and even our source of income💔

And now we’re without shelter, trying to save our daughter from cold and insects 😔

Much later I would read Klee Benally's book No Spiritual Surrender and encountered the idea of "hostile spaces" as a counterpoint to "safe spaces." These are spaces that are safe because they are hostile to oppressive ideologies, an us that excludes the violent others who mean us harm.

I didn't want to just focus on mothers but I didn't want to ignore it either so I started thinking about caretaking and the reproductive labour that goes far beyond physical reproduction.
