Asexual rep. I want to write stuff where asexual people are just there, existing, living normal lives like anyone else.

And I have chickpeas soaking for tomorrow’s recipe. I’m hoping to make up some falafel batter that I can freeze (plus cook up a few to munch on of course).

The muhammara was very satisfying and it made enough for a couple meals so I have that in the fridge.

It is done. I was going to garnish it but I’d rather just eat it. Sorry, not sorry.

I didn’t follow the recipe in every detail but I adjusted it to my tastes. It leans more sweet and tangy than salty or spicy but it’s all in there.

Next time, I may roast the peppers and walnuts myself.

My name is Hamza from Gaza. Losing our home in the war broke more than walls—it broke the future I worked for. I’m caring for my elderly parents and trying to start over. Any little bit of help truly makes a difference for us. 🙏🥺
I’m Ha.mza. Despite everything I’ve lived through, I still hold on to hope. My dream is to study medicine and take care of my parents, who depend on me. Your support, even the smallest amount, brings us one step closer to safety and a calmer life. 🥺🙏

Sigh. Can we please stop equating people not having sex with asexuality and with being inherently asocial or aberrant? That would be great, thanks. Signed, an actual asexual person.

I switched to this and @bookshop.org for every book, ebook, and audiobook purchase where they have what I want - which is 99% of them -- and the apps are great, and I get to support a local bookstore. It's all win here, folks.
If you happen to be looking for an alternative audiobook listening platform, there are many out there, including us at Libro.fm 👋

We aim to build community in many ways, including by supporting independent bookshops with every purchase you make—versus tearing communities apart.

"83% of heavy AI users couldn’t recall key points from what they’d “written,” compared to only 10 percent of those who composed unaided." This is my argument to my students: my class will be excruciating if they don't write their own stories & critiques, bc in class they have to explain*why*.
An excellent and brutal article. I don't think the situation is quite as hopeless as some of this suggests, but the challenges are enormous. Our only chance, as ever, is to hold together: bring faculty, well-meaning administrators, and especially students together: human learning for human beings.
If ChatGPT can generate student essays, complete assignments, and even provide feedback, what remains of the educational transaction?

- Smashwords is cutting down its royalty rates, especially at lower price points
- Ingramspark is raising most of its printing costs again
