While this is going on here, ICE has been spotted on foot + in vehicles across SW + NW sides of Chicago. Can't verify reports rn, but also presuming suburbs. Yesterday was brutal. It's not lost on us they have more agents free for weekend kidnappings now with their facility secured by state police.

Mound Bayou was the second half of the inspiration for my novel The Emancipation of Anarchy Aldridge (the first half was my ancestor's Civil War service in the United States Colored Troop 54th Co. E).

It sparked my obsession with Freedman settlements across the country. I *love* finding new ones.
