Keep a calendar. Take notes: Dates, times, descriptions of their injuries, phone calls you had with them. Keep it to yourself. Document what you can so YOU can present the evidence in support of them when they’re ready to leave.
Please don't abandon your friends that are in abusive relationships. It will take them even longer to get out if you do. The cycle is real.

The most important thing to remember, in my opinion, is that being there for a friend in an abusive situation does NOT mean RESCUING them from the abusive situation. You are there to show them that they always have support, & you can also have resources & a plan waiting for when they’re ready.

Keep yourself safe but if that is your friend keep them close enough that they know you are keeping an eye on them. Even if it's thru text, sm, or whatever - being alone in an abusive relationship makes escaping feel impossible.

I was not allowed to sleep over damn near anywhere and if you had a dad or brothers in the home my mom might not let me go at all. My parents barely trusted me around family members if she or my dad wasn't with me. It was a selct few homes I was allowed to be inside of.
Im so happy my mama didnt allow sleepovers. I hated it then but I FINALLY understand.
