Hey hey, #PortfolioDay!

I'm Ashley, a NY-based illustrator who works on book covers, tarot cards, and TTRPGs!

I'm on a mission to do more traditional work, and here is one I made last summer. I'm dying to do more, so keep an eye out!!!

Do NOT argue with the cop about their probable cause. Let your lawyer do that later, it's what we're there for.

- DO say "I INVOKE MY RIGHTS TO SILENCE AND COUNSEL AND WILL NOT ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS WITHOUT MY ATTORNEY PRESENT." And then SHUT UP.

On the anniversary of the LA fires, I was entrusted by the LA times with illustrating John Wirth’s personal essay about his experience losing his home. I can’t believe it’s been a year, I remember going outside and watching the ashes falling like snow like it was yesterday. Thank you to AD Jim Cooke

This year I want to get good at blocking in paintings more accurately without relying too much on lineart so I’m going to work on a bunch of studies and see where it gets me 😤

Another piece I painted for the new #MTGLorwynEclipsed set! This is Trystan, Penitent Culler...a special double-sided card (the other side was posted earlier). Special thanks to my amazing AD Deborah Garcia for trusting me with this piece. 💜

I am impeaching Secretary Kristi Noem, who is an incompetent leader and a disgrace to our democracy.

She wreaked havoc in the Chicagoland area and has brought her reign of terror to Minneapolis. One of her rogue ICE agents shot and killed an innocent woman today. It must come to an end.

Many local groups have begun planning protests and actions against ICE in other cities.

You'll probably feel better joining an action than doom scroling for a snuff video, just saying.

If you have any funds to spare and want to help Minneapolis right now, getting dash cams to observers is crucially important and especially after today
ICE observers in the Twin Cities are in need of dash cams to prevent further intimidation and frivolous claims.

Cams are $110, memory cards $35, and ship to us directly via this wish list: www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/...

If you've been looking for a way to help, we'd sure appreciate it!

Two rejection emails in an hour, I love that for me.

I guess at least they're letting me know the position has been filled though instead of just ghosting, which is nice 🫠

I live in a building that converted to co-op in the 80s. Lots of landlords did this following expansion of rent regulation in the mid-70s, using the same excuse: "I can't pay my bills because I can no longer indiscriminately raise rent." Conversion was an easy way for landlords to abandon buildings.
The premise of this WSJ article is incorrect. We can debate the effects of the 2019 laws on the rental market, but Pinnacle was a bad actor long before them. Their model for decades was to buy up RS properties and let them fall into disrepair to push tenants out. www.wsj.com/opinion/new-...
