I got an email a few days ago from a courier 'We're expecting your package'. I checked with the retailer and that package hadn't even left the factory! It's so annoying.

Waiting for the bubble to burst...but still afterwards it the internet is fucked. It's gonna be like cleaning up after an oil spill...all of the slop will need to be deleted. The damage will take years to fix.

Scam alert: there's an IngramSpark impersonator at ingramsparkbookpublishers dot com. Part of a wave of publishing/ghostwriting scams from Pakistan that hijack authors looking to self-publish--they often "borrow" well-known publisher names but this one also "borrows" the real IngramSpark's logo

Other industries pay third party royalties when they use copyrighted material. There's a self-reporting system set up to deal with it. LLMs need a constant supply of new data. It's how the models evolve. AI companies decided that it would be too expensive to licence, so they thought,fuck it & stole.
