This is a huge contributor to why "health"-based pyramid schemes are so abundant. People can't access real medical care whether because of poverty or discrimination, and these MLMs promise solutions to desperate people.
Absolutely this. I'd add that many conspiracy movements focused on women's health exist because the medical establishment has completely failed women. I know so many people whose doctors drove them to strange behavior in desperation.
Please hear me when I say that
1) these anti-medical woo birth movements have been a primary feeder into anti-vaxx eugenic movements
2) they pre-date the age of social media
3) they exist because we have not addressed medical sexism and specifically obstetric violence

AI art guys try to sell the tech as a great time-saver/labor-equalizer but also insist it requires LOTS of skill and work. It’s a funny negotiation that gets to the emptiness in how some people see art. Hyper outcome-focused but unsure of how to measure that artistic outcome except by time invested.

When I argue against AI, I'm always met with "Oh, but you already use AI. It's in this and this and this other thing." But I either do NOT use the thing or only interact with it because it's been forced into my life. I want it gone!

If you want to learn to make art, there are countless people out there willing to help you. The only thing is, you have to be willing to try. The AI pushers want what they perceive is the kudos for having made the art, but they don't want to try.

A friend of mine is a teacher and accidentally bought some AI art and got completely roasted for it by her students. The youth hate AI and it gives me some hope. The youth give me hope in general.
