He looks determined without being ruthless. Something heroic in his manner. There’s a courage about him, doesn’t look like a killer.

great. The cats have knocked the jar over and broken off a piece of the lid. I’m sure I’ll find the missing piece somewhere. At any rate, let me just turn forty-five degrees and take a single step (barefoot)
“webcomic” is just about the perfect kind of website for the planet earth

I just wish making comics and posting art was enough.

I don’t want to subject my face & voice to public scrutiny for a revolving door of video trends I have to *shoot & edit myself,* & hope that it makes me hashtag-relatable enough to sell a book. I want my book to relate to ppl on its own merit.
As more and more creators are expected to be on camera to promote their comics, can we talk for a second about how this opens up female creators to intense harassment about their looks?

Not to mention a lot of "You only have a career in comics because you're good looking" comments?

It’s beside the point that the thread is making, but I say it again and again: give teens instruments and let them start bands with their friends
A lot of the Male Loneliness Epidemic can be traced back to the fact that most cis dudes don’t participate in communal logistics.
I think @sarahjeong.bsky.social said it's because they devalue women's labor and a LOT of this Scary Logistics stuff comes from people who don't understand that basically all of the civic life they enjoy is created with the help of free labor, largely by women.

Tho I will say, in his defense, he's not the first person to be confused by how quickly the romance authors & readers can whip up finely tuned logistics out of nothing. 😂

Dr Strangelove voice: “our precious 9-panel grids”
January 26, 2026 at 4:28 PM
did you know that the final format for newspaper Sunday comic strips (sixty-odd years and running) is essentially the same size as a comic book page—just sideways?
January 26, 2026 at 4:26 PM
men are obsessed with the 9-panel grid because men crave to stay on a tier of comic panels longer before making a line jump

I don't know, I really really wanted to like J.H. Williams Echolands, but the format itself ended up more unwieldy then beneficial. IMO. And it really really doesn't translate well to digital screen formats.

I recall Rocketo tried something similar & the PVP comic strips when published at Image.

I’ve been in my apartment for a year and a half and I’ve just recently realized that my chair is not terribly comfortable. It’s alright. But it’s not a reading chair.

My advice for comics is that American comic books should be printed landscape. Sideways.

Basically nothing matters until you can finish a comic. Doesn't have to be long but I talk to so many people who ask how they can pitch to a publisher and I'm sorry but the abstract idea isn't important. Publishers only want to know if you can do a beginning, middle and end and get it done on time.
What advice would you give an aspiring comic creator? - 🦝

they are welcome to start doing the work to fix the harms they have caused by arriving at the right conclusion late. if they arrive and immediately assume they should be leaders, they are not trying to do what is right, they are trying to side with the winners, and should be used with care
Bluesky idea: if people who didn't agree with you change their opinions so that they do agree with you, why not be happy that you are making progress - rather than complaining that they are "only just catching up"?

Same-- I want solid unfancy content, clear enough audio that I don't have to max volume (beyond that idc about audio quality), with sources cited when discussing facts outside of personal experience.

It's shockingly hard to find that short list!
